Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has made no bones about adding to his squad in the January transfer window, even hinting at some potential signings.
The Brazilians still have a long season ahead of them, thanks to their involvement in the Caf Champions League, and need as much squad depth as their purse allows.
This has not been helped by the untimely departures of a couple of players, who could have been key to their cause in the second half of the season.
Striker Emiliano Tade parted ways with the club by mutual consent, before former Bafana marksman Tokelo Rantie had his contract terminated after going AWOL.
This, as admitted by the coach, has heightened the need for a few reinforcements in the transfer window.
Knowledge Musona – Anderlecht (Belgium)
After the unexpected departures of two of their strikers, Sundowns are on the hunt for a marksman with Knowledge Musona reportedly high on the wish list.
The Zimbabwean international is eyeing a move away from Belgian outfit, Anderlecht and Pitso Mosimane has stated that he would not shy away from pursuing him, should he be available.
Aubrey Modiba (Supersport United)
Aubrey Modiba’s season has sbeen plagued by injury, but this has not killed talk of a possible move across town from Supersport United.
The versatile wide player was heavily linked with the reigning league champions, but a move failed to materialise, and talk of a transfer has once again popped up during the transfer window.
Richard Ofori (Maritzburg United)
Sundowns have no shortage of international goalkeepers – with three in their senior squad – but could be looking to add Ghanian shot-stopper Richard Ofori to their ranks.
As KickOff reports, the 26-year-old was spotted having a lengthy discussion with the Tshwane giants’ top brass, including the president, Patrice Motsepe.
Mothobi Mvala (Highlands Park)
The defensive midfielder has been the subject of rumoured interest from the traditional “big three” since his breakthrough season in the 2018/19 campaign.
Despite a quieter season, he could still be set for a move, with Sundowns among the clubs baying for his signature.
Bradley Grobler (Supersport United)
Bafana striker Bradley Grobler could too be on the move, with Sundowns looking to bolster their squad up front.
Grobler had an impressive start to the season, and was once again on the money this past weekend, bagging his seventh league goal of the campaign.
