One Day Internationals

Southh Africa vs England, 3rd ODI at The Wanderers, play starts at 10:00 (SAST)

After a rained-out second match in Durban, it’s the usual change of venue – this time accompanied by a change of playing colours – as South Africa and England engage in the Pink ODI at The Wanderers. The match is the third and final encounter of the series, where the hosts enjoy a 1-0 lead. Both sides will be hoping a result is possible in Johannesburg, amid widespread heavy showers which have been the order of the day over the weekend.

Nedbank Cup

Orlando Pirates vs Bidvest Wits at Orlando Stadium, Kick off at 15:30 (SAST)

Having served up one of the season’s most entertaining encounters early on in the campaign, Orlando Pirates and Bidvest Wits renew rivalries on the first round of the Nedbank Cup on Sunday. The match is undoubtedly the pick of the day’s fixtures, and a replay of the 2014 final where the Buccaneers emerged victorius. The two sides have seen contrasting fortunes in 2020, but that is not guaranteed to be a determining factor of the outcome on the day.

Super Rugby results

It’s been a nigh-perfect weekend for South African teams in Super Rugby, with the only team that ended on the losing side doing so at the hands of their compatriots.

The Bulls suffered a 13-0 defeat to the Stormers in a match that followed a narrow 27-20 win for the Lions against the Reds. Also on the winning side were the Sharks on Friday, as they came away with an impressive 42-20 victory against the Highlanders away from home at the Forsyth-Barr Stadium.
