Manchester City have just about recovered their breath in time for the first Champions League knockout round second leg against FC Schalke at the Etihad Stadium.
The reigning English Premier League champions looked to be on the brink of another continental failure during the first leg in Germany.
A pair of Nabil Bentaleb penalties overturned Sergio Aguero’s early opener, before Nicolas Otamendi was sent off after collecting a second yellow card.
But Leroy Sane and – in the 90th minute – Raheem Sterling doubled up to turn the tie back around and give Pep Guardiola’s side the edge.
