UCL fixtures and results, 12 February

Manchester United vs Paris Saint-Germain – 22:00

Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain collide in the Champions League last 16 on Tuesday at Old Trafford.

The English Premier League side grafted their way through Group H, finishing second behind Italian giants Juventus.

A sensational 2-1 comeback win in Turin proved to be one of Jose Mourinho’s last hurrahs as United boss, with 1999 UCL final hero Ole Gunnar Solskjaer replacing him to great effect in the hotseat.

The popular Norwegian has overseen a remarkable turnaround in form, with the Red Devils blasting back up to fourth in the EPL ahead of rivals Arsenal and Chelsea.

Paris Saint-Germain are enjoying their annual cakewalk in domestic football, sitting ten points clear of Lille at the top of Ligue Un.

The oil-rich Parisians did lose their first game of the campaign, however, at Lyon in recent weeks.

They also suffered one Group C defeat, on the way to finishing top of a nightmare pool involving both Liverpool and Napoli.

Last year’s beaten semi-finalists Roma host FC Porto in the first leg of their last 16 clash on Wednesday night.

The Italian club survived a late wobble in Group G, coming through in second behind Real Madrid despite finishing with back-to-back defeats.

Their Serie A form has been equally patchy to leave them sixth in the table, a whopping 25 points adrift of leaders Juventus and not helped by the resurgence of both Milan clubs.

Porto enjoyed a near-perfect UCL group stage, blazing to the top of Group D after failing to win just once.

FC Schalke, Galatasaray and Lokomotiv Moscow were powerless to halt the Portuguese club’s progress.

They also top the Portuguese Primeira Liga in a fascinating three-way battle with Benfica and Braga.
