Tottenham Hotspur will once again be able to call on the services of Eric Dier and Erik Lamela in their Champions League last sixteen clash with Borussia Dortmund.
Dier overcame the virus that prevented him from taking the field against the Foxes but it remains unclear if he will fit into Mauricio Pochettino’s plans though his versatility should ensure him a place on the bench.
Danny Rose’s shin injury will almost certainly keep him out of the clash with the Bundesliga leaders at Wembley. Pochettino has intimated that Belgian central defender Jan Vertonghen will serve as a left back in his stead.
Spurs still have some time to wait for the return of their stars Harry Kane and Delle Alli but Dortmund have their fair share of injury concerns.
Paco Alcácer, Marco Reus, Manuel Akanji, Łukasz Piszczek and Julian Weigl have all been ruled out of the trip to London.
The injuries and absences mean that Marcel Schmelzer is likely to start on the left side of the Dortmund defence while on loan fullback Achraf Hakimi is likely to take up the right back position.
Mario Gotze will lead the line in the absence of Reus in front of a trio of attacking midfielders.
In other Champions League team news Real Madrid will have to do without Isco and Marcos Llorente in midfield as they look to conduct a raid on Ajax in Amsterdam.
The Bale-Benzema-Vinicius front three of Real Madrid is en vogue in the Spanish capital and behind them we expect to see the trio of Luka Modrić, Casemiro and Toni Kroos.
Real have been struck a double blow to their defence with Jesús Vallejo and Raphael Varane likely to miss the match against Ajax. Los Blancos will turn to the experienced duo of Sergio Ramos and Nacho.
Striker Hassane Bandé is the only Ajax player definitively ruled out of the clash with Real Madrid but defenders Nicolás Tagliafico and Lisandro Magallán are both in doubt for the meeting.
Kasper Dolberg, Hakim Ziyech and Dusan Tadic will likely spearhead the Ajax attack, they may not be the household names of the Galacticos but they will test Real’s defence.
