At least the the Mokgoro Enquiry is not dragging as the Zondo Commission of Inquiry, probably because it was probing two people, suspended senior NPA advocates Lawrence Mrwebi and Nomgcobo Jiba of their fitness of to hold office.
After six weeks of tearful denials from Jiba and outright indignation to be dragged through this process from Mrwebi, the hearings have come to an end.
They were held in Pretoria. The Enquiry will submit its recommendations to President, Cyril Ramaphosa in two weeks’ time.
Ramaphosa established the enquiry to probe Jiba and Mrwebi.
This followed allegations that they mishandled high profile corruption cases amid political interference.
The cases included that of former Crime Intelligence boss Richard Mdluli.
