Begin your scuba dive career at Cruise Sub Aqua in Cape Town South Africa with the first step - PADI Divemaster Course. You're eligible to start your PADI Divemaster training after after 20 logged scuba dives and successfully completing the PADI Rescue Diver course. Working closely with our PADI Instructors in Cape Town, you expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills to the professional level. The most fulfilling part of the course is learning to supervise scuba dive activities and assisting with diver training.

PADI Divemasters are qualified to supervise and assist with both training and non training scuba dive activities. Dive centers and resorts around the world need PADI Divemasters to assist with scuba dive classes and guide underwater tours. PADI Divemasters may conduct the PADI Discover Local Diving experiences and Scuba Review programs for certified divers. They may also conduct the PADI Discover Snorkeling experience and the PADI Skin Diver course, as well as qualify to teach the Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty and Emergency First Response courses.

After you've completed the PADI Rescue Diver course, you're ready for PADI Divemaster. PADI Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities by teaching you to supervise scuba dive activities and assist instructors with student divers.

PADI Divemasters

*Work with local dive centers, on live-aboard dive boats, yachts and at exotic resort locations
*Assist PADI Instructors with scuba classes
*Lead PADI Scuba Divers on guided dive tours
*Teach and certify PADI Skin Divers
*Conduct PADI Scuba Review programs for certified divers
*Conduct Discover Local Diving orientations
*Teach The Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty Course after successfully completing a Digital Underwater Specialty Instructor Training Course.
*Teach Emergency First Response CPR and First Aid programs after completing the Emergency First Response instructor training program.

Prerequisites:
*PADI Rescue Diver certification or qualifying certification from another organization?
*20 logged dives

What it takes:
*Learn dive leadership skills through classroom sessions and by using the PADI Divemaster Manual and Video.
*Complete a series of waterskills and stamina exercises in confined and open water environments.
*Three required training exercises that test organizational and problem solving abilities.

1. Mapping a dive site, including underwater and surface features
2. Equipment exchange: demonstrate the ability to solve unanticipated problems underwater
3. Conduct a simulated or actual class, under the supervision of a PADI Instructor

*Internship or Practical Training Exercises (choose one)
- Internship: hands-on experience supervising and assisting divers in actual PADI programs, under the guidance of a PADI Instructor
- Practical Training Exercises: simulated scenarios in supervising and assisting divers, under the supervision of a PADI Instructor
*Must have a minimum of 60 logged dives to complete the PADI Divemaster course.

MAFIA ISLAND DIVE, TANZANIA  
The dive sites are accessed from a traditional Dhow which make for a novel experience and adds to the entire atmosphere. The accommodation and food is superb, and all this on a quint-essential tropical island in the warm Indian Ocean, surrounded by palm trees and cool sea breezes.
Sounds too good to be true, but it was and we had to keep reminding ourselves that this was not a dream!
